A working artist’s studio finished in hand-applied limewash — soft, chalky walls that catch the morning light and read like a gallery.
An artist studio in Lennox Head, set up to double as a gallery for occasional open days. The brief: walls that look as good as the work hanging on them.
Limewash is a slow, fussy finish — you can’t rush it and you can’t patch it. We applied two coats by hand over a properly prepared lime-primed surface, working in sections so the wet edges blended cleanly.
The result is the chalky, mineral surface limewash is known for — soft on the eye, holds its hue, and ages beautifully.
